Redefining Boundaries

Sheet metal. Steel wire. Paper.
91” x 85”

“In creating this work, I have collaged parts of sheet metal with burnt paper. This interaction of paper and metal creates repeated linear grids and wave patterns, contributing additional textures and forms, ranging from figurative to abstract. The use of burnt paper allow the formation of a solid black line, and emphasizes boarders and borderlines. The symmetrical lines formed by crocheted wire further emphasize transparent boarders, allowing for negotiations and agreements to redefine boarders”.
